Las cercas de piedra que surcan el campo extremeño nos sirven como material base para construir nuestro territorio. La topografía hace el resto. La situación del solar en el límite sur del municipio, con una leve pendiente que se acentúa a medida que nos acercamos al castillo, nos hace reflexionar sobre el papel que ha de jugar nuestra edificación en el paisaje.
Reconstruir la topografía para no modificar el paisaje. El edificio aprovecha el desnivel existente entre la cota de acceso y el camino para resolver la mayor parte de su volumen edificado. De esta forma la ladera que culmina en el castillo se prolonga suavemente, perforándose y mutando, hasta diluirse en el mismo acceso del hotel.
Surcamos nuestra parcela con cercas que continúan las directrices marcadas por el parcelario del lugar, que proporciona viviendas que se adaptan a la topografía y se orientan al sur, encontrando la recompensa del castillo musulmán sobre una cima cercana.
The stone fences which cross the Extremadura field serve as ground material to build out territory. Topography provides the rest. The position of the site at the southern limit of the municipality, with a slight slope whose angle increases as we approach the castle, makes us think about the part which our building must play within the scenery.
Rebuilding topography without affecting the landscape. The building takes advantage of the difference in height existing between the level of access and the level of the road in order to solve most of its built volume. This way, the slope which finishes by the castle is slightly extended, punctured and mutated, until becoming the very access of the hotel.
We populate our site with fences which continue the directions marked by the municipal plots, thus creating residences which adapt to the topography and face south, finding the reward of a Muslim castle on a neighbouring cliff.
